How Simple Web Help Works
We think that getting help for your website should be as easy as 123!
- You fill in the get help form and tell us what you'd like help with on your site
- We'll reply by email with a quote for the work or to discuss your needs in more depth.
- You accept the quote and then get the help you need, either with us working on your site or by simple instructions that come straight into your inbox!
What can you help me with?
Simple Web Help can help you with all sorts of web things, including:
- laying out your pages - making sure your site looks good to everyone
- (x)html, html, css (style sheets) & javascript - how the page is made
- accessibility - making sites that are usable by everyone and meet Section 508 and the Disability Discrimination Act
- writing for the web - making the most out of what you've got to say!
- making your site search engine friendly - search engine optimization, making sure your site comes up on search engines
- making your site usable on mobile devices - so your site can be used on cell phones, blackberries, iPhones and the like
- creating a blog/podcast and their feeds - letting people know your news and what you're up to
- Facebook, Twitter & other 'social' things - more ways of letting people know about your site
- contact forms & guestbooks - how people can contact you
- calendars - letting people know about your events

How can I get help?
The easiest way is by the Get Help Form. But if you've got questions you'd like to ask before starting the formal process, then please contact us.

What does it cost?
Our pricing is very simple. When we know what help you'll need or the work we'll be doing, we'll give you a quote. This is a fixed price quote and is the price you'll pay - unless your needs change! We'll start work once you've accepted the quote.
There is a minimum charge of $15/£10/€12.
As guidelines, here are some examples:
1. A search engine and text check for a 10 page website
Checking the text for spelling;
Advising on wording on the site;
Advising on 'meta' keywords and descriptions;
Helping you set-up a google site map and business listing.
Price: $100/£75/€85
2. Adding a custom made contact form and guestbook to a site
Creating the form to fit in with your site (with the fields you'd like);
Creating a guestbook to fit in with your site;
Installing the form and guestbook.
Price: $125/£90/€95
3. Getting you going on Twitter and adding your updates to the site
Explaining Twitter and what it can do for you/your business;
Setting up an account and making your Twitter page fit with your site;
Adding the update to your site;
Finding the right way of you updating Twitter.
Price: $70/£50/€55
These are simple examples, but we quote for each request on its own needs.

How Do I Pay?
Payments are made through PayPal. This is fully secure. You don't need a PayPal account to use PayPal, only a credit or debit card.
Invoices will be emailed to you, with a link in them that will take you to the Simple Web Help page on PayPal to make the payment. We will not have access to details of your credit/debit card.
Will I be to understand the help I get!?
Absolutely! Although we're geeks(!), we understand that web and tech speak can be very confusing. All the help you will get will be in simple and easy to understand English. We try to avoid jargon and tech speak wherever we can!

What personal information will I need to give you?

Please see the site privacy policy for full details of this. But basically, any personal information you give us will be kept password protected and very securely encrypted. When the help is done we will destroy it - unless you'd like us to keep it on record for any future work.
We won't sell or distriubute your information in any way.
